I have everything almost done! I only have the little things to get (aisle runner, rings, food, and little things for favors), so it's good that it's mostly done now. I have really become a DIY bride. I found instructions on how to do my own aisle runner, and I'm going to do my own veil and unity candle. The favors are DIY too. Here's what I have so far:
My aunt is catering the wedding, and all the food and the cake is chosen. We're buying the ingredients and she's cooking.
Menu:
-Rosemary garlic infused chicken
-marinated london broil
-"loaded" mashed potatoes
-Mac and cheese
-Chicken fingers for the kids
The favors: A candy buffet with two types of chocolate bark, homemade lollipops, and M&M's in purple and green (our colors); then for something a little more personal, the "escort cards" are going to be little pots with a small packet of daisy seeds (my favorite flower). We're going to put tags on them for either the family name or per person (we have decided that yet). Oh, and bubbles for each person too.
We have the little centerpieces done, just little votive candles in green and ivory with sand, marbles, or sea rocks in purple, green or clear/white. The big center pieces are going to be a bit of waterproof sand or rocks in the bottom, with a silver (accent color) and ivory floating candle in each.
The bouquets are done. We had to do fake flowers because my MOH is allergic to some types of flowers. They are purple roses with little white flowers strewn in. My bouquet isn't done yet, but almost. The ceremony "centerpieces" that we are using, instead of using the typical archway.
We have the honeymoon destination picked, but are waiting on paying for it, as our registry is for our honeymoon. We thought it would be better to have people contribute than get more of what we don't need (i.e. linens, kitchen appliances).
Obviously, my dress has been picked (I would hope so, with 3 months left), as are the BM's dresses, and the GM's attire has been picked as well. As it is a "casual" (but still formal dress) event, we have decided to put the guys in just the vests... not the entire tux. It'll be May in South FL, way too hot for tux's.
We are also doing our music ourselves. I know some people would disagree with doing your own music, but why spend $2000 on a DJ, when you can set it up yourself and have your Bridal Party introduce you. It's much more intimate anyway.
Oh, we have the location booked too. We're having it at my brother and sister's community center: Stoneybrook Golf Club. And the photographer is booked too (Ashlee Nicole Photography)
I think tomorrow, mom and I are going to go look at some stuff for the lollipops, and hopefully get the runner. I'm kinda excited to do it myself!
