Ok, so after some really really REALLY stressful days, I'm back to being a busy bee. I forgot that I also have to make the playlist for the cocktail hour, the "obligatory" dances, slow songs, and "get up and dance" songs. I figured that way, I can change the songs based off how things are going.... My Brother and Sister are going to help out with that. I let my photographer know that I can finish paying her next week, and I'm going to talk to my brother about paying for the location then too...
I have exactly 72 days left... I know that sounds like a lot, but technically, I have about 8 weeks left to do the lollipops, bridesmaids gifts, and start the bubbles. That gives me *just* enough time to start. Mom and I figured if I do a batch of lollipops a week, I should start Sunday, and I want to practice one more time before I do the "final" product (my last batch didn't turn out so well, I didn't get the mixture up to temp fully apparently.)
Bridesmaid's gifts might take some time too... I'm toying with two different things.
One- The names on the tote bags... I'm either going to do their initials or first name... and then I have to decide if I want to do that in rhinestones or take fabric marker and stencils. The marker route would be cheaper, only because I have the markers here at the house, but I might want to get an extra tote or something and test for smearing.
Two- The candles... This one has three options. I get coupons from Yankee Candle all the time through their mailing list. If I go with YC, I have to decide whether or not to get them the small candle in their favorite scent, or get them a cute (but cheap) tart warmer with a few different tarts. The other option is to make the candles myself.... the con to this is, is I haven't made candles since the fifth grade (nearly 10 years ago). I know Michael's usually has candle making stuff for even the most amateur candle maker, but I don't know if I want to go through all of the hassle of making it (If I remember my candle making days clearly...) and having a lower quality.
My mom suggested making them soap... I'm kind of toying with this idea too, but, again, I don't want to make something that might look like a third grader did it (I'm crafty, but it just seems... daunting to do something that I haven't done in ages and even back then... I was only 10 and my stuff was veeeeeerrrry amateur.)
So, the floor is now yours... should I get the Yankee Candle stuff (and if so, which product should I get?) or should I test the candle making (or soap making) waters again and DIY it?
